WE LOVE ELMWOOD
We're here to make a difference and we're dedicated to enhancing the lives of our friends and neighbours in Elmwood. We have a collection of compassion ministries designed to reach out and befriend, assist and encourage disadvantaged people who live in our neighbourhood.
Riverwood House
An Innovative Recovery Housing Project
Riverwood House will be a 40-unit Recovery Housing complex taking aim at addictions, poverty, and homelessness through a safe, stable and supportive environment for Winnipeg's at-risk population.
FOOD BANK
Riverwood Food Bank is currently located at 274 Talbot Ave. The building we call ‘The Garage’ which has a historic past as an auto body shop. We partner with Harvest Manitoba to provide groceries to Elmwood families every week. Every Wednesday morning we unload the delivery truck and prepare for our two food banks which occur in the afternoon and evening. We strive to keep the process welcoming, dignifying and free of discrimination. Our healthy food policy also helps keep us focused on providing good food that will encourage healthy eating habits and give our neighbours the opportunity to thrive.
Food Bank hours:
Wednesdays: 12-1:30pm and 5:30PM - 6:30PM
Walk-ins are available on a limited basis but it is best to register with Harvest Manitoba.
If you are in need of food, please contact
Harvest Manitoba at 204-982-3660 to register for a hamper.
The Food bank will be closed the following dates:
July 1 and 2 for Canada Day stat

Dec. 23 and Dec. 30 for holidays
